Even in North Texas, which is home to countless stories of business success, the companies on this year’s Dallas 100 stand out with their super-charged growth.

The winners on this year’s list generated more than $3.8 billion in revenue in 2023 — a remarkable amount. But that was up 44% from $2.1 billion in 2021, showcasing how firms with already considerable traction are finding new ways to boost sales and provide value to customers.

The Dallas 100 winners were revealed Nov. 12 by the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at SMU’s Cox School of Business. They came from fields from software to electronic payments, security to bussing. The overall No. 1, with eye-popping four-digit revenue growth, was Maverick Power.

SMU does not disclose financials for individual companies but supplied aggregate data. The average growth rate among the 100 companies on the list was about 80%.

The combined revenue of the top 10 companies was more than $700 million last year, and the average growth rate over three years was 254%.

And this growth has resulted in thousands of new jobs being created. The Dallas 100 employed 29,510 people in 2023, up from 22,746 in 2021.

This was the 34th year for the Dallas 100. Many companies are repeat winners, showcasing sustained success. They included No. 3 PayNetWorx (up from No. 10 last year), No. 57 OrderMyGear (up from No. 100) and others.
