Vista Bank President & CEO John D. Steinmetz, joined Kelly Evans on CNBC’s The Exchange to discuss the incoming administration, M&A opportunities, a potential IPO for Vista Bank, and more.
When asked if Vista was going to be a catalyst in the coming bank consolidation activity, Mr. Steinmetz responded, “Absolutely, if you look at Texas in particular, there are 380 bank charters in Texas as an example. There’s just over 100 in California and less than 100 in Florida. I think that Texas is ripe for consolidation. We also serve Florida and we think there’s some tremendous opportunities there as well. We’re looking at the IPO potential and have some institutional investors that have put nine figures behind capital commitments. We believe that there’s going to be continued opportunities going forward and we’re looking forward to it.”
