The U.S. Small Business Administration released a portion of Paycheck Protection Program loan information on Monday that contains national data down to the ZIP code for recipients of the funding earmarked to help small businesses weather the economic fallout and uncertainty brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Among the data were the individual lenders for each of the loans.
The Dallas Business Journal analyzed the most active lenders among all the North Texas organizations that received up to $10 million in PPP funds. For this research, North Texas was defined as Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise counties.
JPMorgan Chase accounted for the largest number of loans to small businesses in the region with 12,045.
Bank of America was not far behind with PPP loans to 10,507 organizations. Frost Bank trailed behind in the No. 3 spot with 5,156 loans.
